Hydro Jetting Cleared 80-Foot Kitchen Line at West Hollywood Restaurant

The Problem

A West Hollywood restaurant had called three different plumbers in the past 18 months, each time to snake the main kitchen drain. It would flow freely for 4-6 weeks, then slow again. A camera inspection we ran before any work showed why: the pipe walls were coated in 3-4 inches of hardened grease along most of the 80-foot run to the city connection. Snaking was punching through the center of the blockage each time without touching the grease on the walls.

What We Did

We hydro jetted the full 80-foot line at 3,500 PSI using a rotating nozzle that scours the pipe walls rather than just the center channel. Three passes were required to fully clear the hardened grease buildup. A post-jetting camera confirmed the line was restored to near-original diameter throughout the full run.

The Result

The kitchen drain has been flowing without issue since the jetting, now past the point where previous snaking jobs would have failed. We set up a quarterly jetting schedule for the kitchen line and bi-annual grease trap service, which is more cost-effective than repeated emergency snake calls.
